mcp-vindi — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, setup
Connects an AI coding agent to Vindi for subscriptions, bills, customers, and payment actions. Useful for recurring billing workflows.
claude mcp add mcp-vindi -e VINDI_API_KEY=<VINDI_API_KEY> -- npx -y @codespar/mcp-vindiWhat mcp-vindi does
mcp-vindi gives an agent Vindi tools for creating and inspecting subscriptions, bills, customers, plans, and products. It can also stop or restore subscriptions, cancel pending bills, retry a charge, and issue a full or partial refund.
The server includes tools for payment profiles, including creation and filtered listing. In total, it exposes 20 tools, with optional filters on several list operations. It runs through npx and reads the credential from VINDI_API_KEY.
Vindi authenticates with Basic Auth: the API key is used as the username and the password is empty. The server cannot call Vindi without VINDI_API_KEY; testing requires a sandbox API key from the Vindi dashboard.
What it helps with
- create a recurring Vindi subscription
- inspect bills using optional filters
- retry payment for a pending bill
- cancel a subscription or refund a charge
- add a customer and saved payment profile
Example prompts for the agent
- Create a Vindi subscription for customer
123and show its details. - Find pending bills and retry the charge for bill
456. - Cancel subscription
789, then check its current status.
