mcp-server-chart — Claude Code MCP server: what it does and install
Generates over 26 chart and diagram types using AntV directly inside AI coding assistants and MCP clients.
claude mcp add --env VIS_REQUEST_SERVER=<VIS_REQUEST_SERVER> --env SERVICE_ID=<SERVICE_ID> --env DISABLED_TOOLS=<DISABLED_TOOLS> --transport stdio mcp-server-chart -- npx -y @antv/mcp-server-chartWhat mcp-server-chart does
This TypeScript-based server generates charts via AntV. It connects over 26 visualization tools to MCP clients. The list includes column and line charts, scatter plots, flowcharts, mind maps, and Ishikawa diagrams.
It also generates tabular pivot tables. Supplying rows and values triggers cross-tabulation. Geographic map tools rely on AMap and operate exclusively inside China, so they will not work for international coordinates.
Configuration relies on DISABLED_TOOLS, SERVICE_ID, and VIS_REQUEST_SERVER. Excluding unneeded tools with DISABLED_TOOLS keeps agent prompt context small.
What it helps with
- plot trend and distribution metrics using AntV charts
- generate structured flowcharts and process diagrams
- create Ishikawa fishbone diagrams for root cause analysis
- render pivot tables and spreadsheets from raw tabular inputs
Example prompts for the agent
- Generate a bar chart comparing quarterly revenue across departments
- Create a flowchart showing the user registration and verification steps
- Build a network graph of dependencies between these services
