mcp-klever-vm — Claude Code MCP server for Klever VM
Feeds your coding agent Klever smart contract knowledge: code patterns, examples and checks for common mistakes.
claude mcp add --transport http mcp-klever-vm https://mcp.klever.org/mcpWhat mcp-klever-vm does
mcp-klever-vm is an MCP server from klever-io aimed at Klever blockchain smart contract work. It serves a knowledge base built around the Klever VM SDK — code samples, practices, runtime behaviour. Your agent can query it by type, tag or contract type and gets back ranked results.
Under the hood sits a parser that pulls patterns and examples out of Klever contracts, a validator that flags common issues and anti-patterns, and scripts for deploying, upgrading and querying contracts. Storage runs in memory or on Redis, and the server can start as an HTTP API, an MCP stdio process or a hosted public service. The public endpoint https://mcp.klever.org/mcp is read-only: add_context and shell tools such as init_klever_project are switched off there. Need writes or project scaffolding? Run it yourself.
Transactions require the Klever SDK, installed through scripts/install-sdk.sh in the repo. A local build needs pnpm and a .env file covering mode, port and storage type. Set STORAGE_TYPE=redis without a reachable Redis and the server won't start, so check that value first.
What it helps with
- find Klever VM contract examples without digging through the SDK
- catch anti-patterns in a contract before deploying
- reuse storage and event patterns in a new contract
- deploy, upgrade and query a contract with ready scripts
- pull Klever API reference into the chat with your agent
Example prompts for the agent
- Look up token handling examples in the Klever knowledge base and show how decimals are computed
- Check my contract for anti-patterns and tell me what to fix
- Write a deployment script for my contract using the Klever SDK

Questions about mcp-klever-vm
How do I install mcp-klever-vm in Claude Code?
Point Claude at the hosted server: claude mcp add --transport http mcp-klever-vm https://mcp.klever.org/mcp. Or run it locally with claude mcp add mcp-klever-vm -- npx -y @klever/mcp-server.
What does mcp-klever-vm do?
It hands your agent Klever contract context: examples, practices and error breakdowns. It also validates contracts and helps with deployment.
How is the public server different from a local one?
The public mode exposes read and search tools only. Writing context and shell tools like init_klever_project stay disabled, so run the server locally if you need them.
