MCP Evernote — Claude Code MCP server: features and setup
Connect an AI agent to Evernote to manage notes, search entries, and work with notebooks and tags.
claude mcp add mcp-evernote -- npx -y @verygoodplugins/mcp-evernoteWhat MCP Evernote does
The server lets an agent create Evernote notes from plain text or Markdown, read and edit existing entries, and delete them. It converts between Markdown and ENML, including local attachments. Search supports Evernote’s query syntax.
Agents can also list and create notebooks and tags, organize notebooks into stacks, and retrieve account and quota details. Claude Code handles OAuth setup through /mcp; other setup paths use a separate authentication step. Evernote has stopped issuing developer keys to new applicants, so new users are directed to cookie-based authentication. Check the Node.js version before installing: an unsupported runtime can prevent setup.
What it helps with
- create an Evernote note from Markdown
- search notes with Evernote query syntax
- edit or delete an existing note
- organize entries with notebooks and tags
- check Evernote account quota
Example prompts for the agent
- Create an Evernote note from this Markdown text.
- Search Evernote for notes matching this query.
- Check for note changes with the
evernote_pollingtool.
