mabl — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Remote managed service that lets AI agents run mabl tests, inspect failure causes, and generate cloud suites from chat.
claude mcp add --transport http mcp https://mcp.mabl.com/mcpWhat mabl does
Hosted directly by mabl as a cloud endpoint, this MCP server needs no local runtime or containers. It exposes tools to execute browser and API suites, inspect run histories, and create tests directly inside your mabl workspace.
The server connects via Streamable HTTP at https://mcp.mabl.com/mcp or SSE at https://mcp.mabl.com/sse. Instead of handling static tokens, authentication relies on standard MCP OAuth: the client opens a browser login page during the first request and caches credentials locally.
An active mabl account is required. Cloud test generation and failure diagnosis will not function unless your workspace has the matching mabl AI entitlements enabled.
What it helps with
- Trigger mabl test runs and monitor execution status
- Investigate failure root causes using workspace telemetry
- Generate new cloud-based tests without opening the web app
- Inspect execution summaries across different workspaces
Example prompts for the agent
- Check the results of the latest test run in my mabl workspace
- Run the smoke test suite in mabl and explain why it failed
- Generate a mabl cloud test for the checkout workflow

Questions about mabl
How do I install mabl in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add --transport http mabl https://mcp.mabl.com/mcp in your terminal. When prompted, complete the web login flow to authorize your client.
What does the mabl MCP server do?
It connects AI tools to the mabl testing platform. Agents can initiate runs, read workspace results, diagnose failed steps, and build new tests in the cloud.
Do I need an API key to configure the server?
No API key is needed because authentication uses standard MCP OAuth. Your browser opens automatically on the first connection, and the client stores the session token.
