Loadster — Claude Code MCP server: load tests and monitoring
Wires your agent into Loadster's cloud load testing platform, so scripts, scenarios, monitors and results stay inside the chat.
claude mcp add --transport http loadster-mcp https://api.loadster.com/mcpWhat Loadster does
Loadster runs cloud load testing and synthetic monitoring. Its MCP server sits at https://api.loadster.com/mcp and speaks Streamable HTTP. An agent connected to it can author load test scripts, assemble scenarios, set up monitors and pull run results from your Loadster account.
Claude Code users get a plugin from the repository. It registers the server and adds skills for the usual workflow: setup to connect, setup-script for a first script, setup-scenario for a first scenario, setup-monitor for a first monitor, load-test for a full run, and results to read what happened. Skip the plugin and you can register the server directly; Claude handles the OAuth handshake for you.
OAuth 2.1 is the preferred way in. Personal access tokens cover clients that cannot do OAuth, plus CI jobs and scripted agents. Create one in the dashboard under **Settings → API & MCP → Personal Access Tokens**, copy it immediately since it is shown once, and send it as Authorization: Bearer YOUR_TOKEN. A token carries your identity inside the team where it was created, so guard it like a password. Loadster hosts the server itself; its source is not in this repository.
What it helps with
- write a first Playwright load test script
- build a multi-step load test scenario
- stand up a synthetic monitor for a key page
- run a full load test and read the metrics
- dig through results from an earlier run in chat
Example prompts for the agent
- List my Loadster projects
- Help me write a load test script for the checkout page
- Set up a synthetic monitor for the homepage

Questions about Loadster
How do I install Loadster in Claude Code?
Use the marketplace plugin: run /plugin marketplace add loadster/loadster-mcp, then /plugin install loadster@loadster. After that run /mcp, pick **loadster** and approve the OAuth connection in your browser.
What does the Loadster MCP server do?
It gives an agent access to your Loadster account: writing and running load test scripts, assembling scenarios, configuring synthetic monitors and reading run results.
Can I connect without OAuth?
Yes. Clients that cannot do OAuth, CI jobs and scripted agents can use a personal access token. Create one under **Settings → API & MCP → Personal Access Tokens** and pass it as Authorization: Bearer YOUR_TOKEN.
