LMCP — Claude Code MCP server: email, calendar, files
Connects your AI assistant to email, calendars, messages and files on Mac or Windows. Useful when the answer sits in several apps at once.
claude mcp add --transport http local-mcp https://local-mcp.com/mcpWhat LMCP does
LMCP is a local MCP server. It runs on your machine and hands the assistant tools for your apps and accounts — Apple Mail, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Slack, WhatsApp, Signal, Google Drive, OneDrive, Microsoft 365, Notes, Reminders, Notion, ServiceNow among them. What you actually get depends on the OS and the permissions you grant.
The app goes in first, then the server is added to your client. Claude takes it through the plugin marketplace, while Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot and Gemini CLI use mcp add commands or a config block. There is an npm path too: npx -y local-mcp@latest setup detects compatible clients and configures them. Restart the client fully afterwards, since MCP tools load at startup.
Apple-native tools are macOS-only, and connected services may ask for their own sign-in. Web assistants connect to https://www.local-mcp.com/mcp as a custom connector with OAuth and need Cloud Data Forwarding switched on — it is off by default, and with it off the connector exposes only setup_install. An endpoint alone is not a working connection: finish authorization and check that tools show up in your client.
What it helps with
- find what you still owe someone across email and messages
- build a realistic day plan from calendar, tasks and threads
- draft replies to customer orders using inventory data
- pull a document out of cloud storage for the assistant
- create a note and a reminder from one request
Example prompts for the agent
- Find everything I still owe the architect across email and messages, with sources
- Put my day together from my calendar and tasks and suggest a plan
- Draft replies to customer orders using the inventory data

Questions about LMCP
How do I install LMCP in Claude Code?
Install the LMCP app first. Then, inside Claude, run /plugin marketplace add colibird-ai/local-mcp-claude-plugin followed by /plugin install local-mcp@local-mcp. Restart the client fully afterwards.
What does LMCP do?
It gives your assistant access to email, calendars, messages, tasks and files over MCP. The assistant can search across apps and take actions when you authorize them.
Does LMCP work on Windows?
Yes, macOS 13+ and Windows 10+ (64-bit) are supported. Apple-native tools remain macOS-only, and connected services may need their own sign-in.
