Layven — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Shared storage for autonomous agents. Tracks file revisions, logs which assistant made each update, and handles rollbacks.
claude mcp add --transport http layven https://api.layven.io/mcpWhat Layven does
Layven connects assistants to an external file system over https://api.layven.io/mcp. Every write creates a fresh version record. When someone overwrites data or drops a file, the restore tool recovers previous snapshots or removes tombstones. Changes also link to specific agent tokens inside the activity log.
The server includes file reads, inline writes, line edits, RE2 pattern matching via grep, and five-minute advisory path locks. Without a valid agent token from the web console, requests return an authorization error. Secret tokens appear only once during generation.
What it helps with
- share files across multiple agents without altering project code
- audit which assistant modified a shared document
- prevent race conditions using path locks
- recover older versions of altered files
Example prompts for the agent
- Find all markdown files across my Layven workspaces
- Inspect recent activity on
data/schema.sqlto identify who edited it - Acquire a lock on
pipeline/config.jsonbefore writing changes
