jobverify — Claude Code MCP server: vet job offers
Checks recruiter messages and job offers against public records, then tells you whether the offer looks real, risky or like a scam.
claude mcp add jobverify -- uvx jobverify-mcpWhat jobverify does
Paste a recruiter's message, a company name, a link or an email address into your AI chat. The server pulls out emails, domains, phone numbers, wallet addresses and profile URLs, then runs each one past public business registries, scam blocklists and website history from the Internet Archive. You get a short verdict: which signals are reassuring, which are red flags, what to do next.
Setup is one terminal line. The server runs from GitHub through uvx, so there is no repo to clone and no virtualenv to create. You do need uv installed first — without it uvx jobverify-mcp will not run. The initial start takes a few seconds while the tool downloads; after that it launches right away.
No API keys, no sign-up, and nothing you paste gets stored or sold. It does not log into or scrape LinkedIn, only reads what is already public. Treat the result as guidance about a message, not a final judgement about a person.
What it helps with
- check whether the company behind an offer actually exists
- spot the classic upfront-equipment-fee scam script
- find out how old the domain in the message really is
- trace a recruiter photo or username across other profiles
- decide whether a suspicious message deserves a reply
Example prompts for the agent
- Analyze this job offer email and tell me if it looks like a scam
- Run the
analyzeprompt on this message from a recruiter
