osint-agent-skills — Claude Code MCP server: OSINT knowledge base
Turns your coding agent into an OSINT analyst with methodologies, pivot playbooks and report templates. Useful when you need cited findings instead of confident prose.
claude mcp add osint-agent-skills -- npx -y @frangelbarrera/osint-agent-skillsWhat osint-agent-skills does
The package is a folder of markdown and YAML, not a running service. An agent reads system-prompt.md, takes on the analyst persona, plans the work through a five-phase intelligence cycle, and pulls lookups from the registries in tools/. Findings get written up with templates/reports/intelligence-report.md, and ethics/ sets the legal boundaries plus rules against fabricated results.
You wire it in over MCP, so npx fetches it on first run. Claude takes claude mcp add osint-agent-skills -- npx -y @frangelbarrera/osint-agent-skills; Codex uses the same line with codex in front. Cursor and GitHub Copilot expect a JSON block in their config instead.
Some lookups in tools/apis.yaml need an API key, while tools/free-tools.yaml lists the ones that don't. Clone the repo with git clone https://github.com/frangelbarrera/osint-agent-skills and point the agent at it, otherwise it only sees the MCP tools and none of the methodology files.
What it helps with
- produce a domain report with cited sources
- chain an email address to a domain and its infrastructure
- background a company from public records
- label confidence on every finding
- stay inside legal limits while collecting data
Example prompts for the agent
- Investigate the domain
example.comwith the OSINT Agent Skills methodology and write the full report - Map the services tied to this IP and show the pivot chain
- Check this email against public sources and cite where each result came from

Questions about osint-agent-skills
How do I install osint-agent-skills in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add osint-agent-skills -- npx -y @frangelbarrera/osint-agent-skills. Then clone the repository so the agent can read the knowledge files.
What does osint-agent-skills do?
It gives an agent the working discipline of an OSINT analyst: methodologies, pivot playbooks, tool registries and report templates. The agent plans the investigation and delivers a structured report with sources.
Does it need API keys?
Only for part of the toolset. tools/free-tools.yaml covers lookups that run without a key, and tools/apis.yaml covers the ones that require one.
