mcp-server · ilovevideoeditor — Claude Code MCP server for video rendering
Connect an agent to iLoveVideoEditor to browse templates and submit video renders. An iLoveVideoEditor API key is required.
claude mcp add --env VF_API_KEY=<VF_API_KEY> --env VF_API_BASE_URL=<VF_API_BASE_URL> --transport stdio ilovevideoeditor-mcp-server -- npx -y @ilovevideoeditor/mcp-serverWhat mcp-server does
With mcp-server, an agent can browse iLoveVideoEditor templates, inspect their variables, then submit either VideoJSON or a template populated with values. It can also check a render job and retrieve an MP4 download link. The service description lists more than 249 templates.
The server communicates over MCP using stdio. For Claude Code, the setup runs npx -y @ilovevideoeditor/mcp-server; VF_API_KEY must contain an iLoveVideoEditor API key. Set VF_API_BASE_URL to use a different API base address. Without the key, the service cannot process render requests.
What it helps with
- find a template for a video
- inspect a template’s variables
- submit VideoJSON for rendering
- check a render job’s status
- retrieve the finished MP4 link
Example prompts for the agent
- Find an iLoveVideoEditor template for this short video and show its variables.
- Send this VideoJSON to iLoveVideoEditor for rendering.
- Check the latest render job and return its MP4 download link.
