Hovercode — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Connects your assistant to Hovercode to generate QR codes, build quick landing pages, shorten URLs, and track scan analytics through chat.
claude mcp add --transport http mcp https://hovercode.com/mcp/What Hovercode does
This server connects AI assistants to the Hovercode platform. It lets models generate PNG or SVG QR codes, update scan destinations, restyle markers, and organize assets into folders. Everything the model produces appears instantly in your Hovercode workspace.
Setup works through a hosted HTTP endpoint at https://hovercode.com/mcp/ or via a local bridge running npx -y hovercode-mcp. Authentication relies on browser OAuth or an API token passed in environment variables or request headers.
Static barcodes carry no quota limits. Dynamic tracked links share your workspace limits, so large marketing campaigns need an upgraded account.
What it helps with
- generate print-ready vector and raster QR codes
- redirect dynamic QR destinations without changing printed materials
- build block-based landing pages and feedback forms
- inspect scan metrics by city, device, and timeframe
Example prompts for the agent
- Point my printed menu QR code to the updated PDF URL
- Build a quick form asking for attendee names and t-shirt sizes, then return the QR code
