HasData Redfin — Claude Code MCP server: what it does and setup
Gives MCP clients read-only access to Redfin real estate listings and property pages in structured JSON. Helpful for property market research inside coding assistants.
claude mcp add redfin -e HASDATA_API_KEY=<HASDATA_API_KEY> -- npx -y @hasdata/redfin-mcpWhat HasData Redfin does
This hosted server adds two tools to search public real estate records. One tool queries active, pending, or sold listings using filters like price and bedroom count. The second tool pulls in-depth property records, including tax history, school ratings, and HOA fees.
You do not need to host Docker containers or scrape HTML manually. The service runs over remote HTTP at https://mcp.hasdata.com/mcp?apis=redfin. For clients limited to stdio, wrappers exist on npm as @hasdata/redfin-mcp and PyPI as hasdata-redfin-mcp.
Requests require an active HASDATA_API_KEY. Without this token passed via headers or environment variables, tool calls will fail immediately. HasData grants 1,000 monthly credits with no card on sign-up, which covers 100 tool queries at 10 credits each.
What it helps with
- Filter active and sold homes by price or area
- Extract historical prices and tax records for a house
- Locate rental listings that allow pets and include laundry
- Inspect assigned public school ratings for an address
Example prompts for the agent
- Find three-bedroom homes in Austin priced under 500k
- Show rentals in zip code 78741 that allow dogs
- Get detailed property info and tax records for this Redfin link
