HasData Google Images — Claude Code MCP server: install
This MCP server searches Google Images and returns source pages, thumbnails, and full-size image URLs as JSON. Use it when an agent needs image results with filters.
claude mcp add google-images -e HASDATA_API_KEY=<HASDATA_API_KEY> -- npx -y @hasdata/google-images-mcpWhat HasData Google Images does
HasData Google Images exposes one read-only search tool to an MCP client. A query can include Google filters for image size, color, and type. The response contains up to 100 results with titles, source domains, originating pages, direct image URLs, thumbnails, dimensions, and result positions.
The service runs remotely over streamable HTTP, so there is no container to maintain. Access requires a HasData API key supplied through HASDATA_API_KEY; authentication fails without it. Clients that only support stdio can use @hasdata/google-images-mcp from npm or hasdata-google-images-mcp from PyPI. Each successful call costs 10 credits, while the free tier provides 1,000 credits per month.
What it helps with
- search Google Images from an agent
- filter results by size, color, or image type
- return the source page behind an image
- compare image sources across Google regions
Example prompts for the agent
- Find Austin skyline images wider than 1500 pixels and include their source pages.
- Get black-and-white photographs for this query while leaving out clipart and line art.
- Compare the image sources returned by German Google and US Google for this product.
