What Guardian Engine does

Guardian Engine compares a candidate recipe with a master specification, including one supplied through master_json. Its verify_recipe tool returns PASSED or FAILED and identifies the rules behind the result. Any critical finding fails the recipe; more than 5 warnings also result in failure.

The hosted MCP server uses Streamable HTTP. Add it to Claude Code with the command below; there is no separate server installation, Docker setup, or API key requirement. Allergen results are not a safety guarantee, and a person must review a repaired recipe before it is cooked, served, or published.

What it helps with

  • check a recipe against a supplied specification
  • spot ingredient or technique violations
  • get a verdict with the rules behind it
  • flag recipes that exceed the warning threshold

Example prompts for the agent

  • Check this recipe against my specification and list the rule violations.
  • Compare the recipe steps with the master spec and report the verdict.
  • Find critical issues in this recipe and explain what needs changing.

Questions about Guardian Engine

How do I install Guardian Engine in Claude Code?

Run claude mcp add --transport http guardian-engine https://api.kaimeilabs.dev/mcp to connect to the hosted MCP server.

What does Guardian Engine do?

It checks recipes against a specification and returns a PASSED or FAILED verdict with the violated rules. Allergen findings do not certify that food is safe.

Does Guardian Engine need an API key?

No API key is required. Its allergen warnings still cannot establish whether a dish is safe for a particular person.
