What Glasser does

Glasser connects an agent to a catalog of paid APIs through MCP. Its tools cover catalog searches, endpoint inspection, API execution, run history, and workspace balance checks. Charges apply when the agent calls run; catalog lookups and balance reads do not create billable runs. Each execution reports its own cost, so the agent can review endpoint pricing before sending a request.

The included skill guides the agent through finding an API, checking its price and billing conditions, running the request, and reporting both the output and the charge. An optional CLI handles results that exceed the context window and supports scripting and CI workflows. Cursor also gets a persistent spending rule.

On first use, the client opens a browser for Glasser sign-in. Choose the workspace whose funds the agent may use, then grant permission. The repository distributes configuration and Markdown files rather than executable code. Revoking the generated client key disconnects access; disconnecting the client alone does not revoke that key.

What it helps with

  • Find a paid API for company data enrichment
  • Locate endpoints for SEO and SERP research
  • Retrieve website data through scraping APIs
  • Check endpoint pricing before executing a request
  • Review previous API runs and their charges

Example prompts for the agent

  • Find APIs for company data enrichment and compare the prices of suitable endpoints.
  • Find an API for SEO research, inspect its billing terms, and run a suitable query.
  • Show previous runs and the charges against the selected workspace.

Questions about Glasser

How do I install Glasser in Claude Code?

Run claude mcp add --transport http glasser 'https://api.glasser.ai/mcp?utm_source=mcp-registry&utm_medium=mcp_directory'. When the agent first calls a tool, sign in through the browser, select the workspace it may spend from, and approve access.

What does Glasser do?

Glasser exposes paid data APIs to agents through MCP. Agents can discover endpoints, inspect billing terms, execute requests, and retrieve earlier run results. Only run creates a charge against the selected workspace.

How does Glasser handle authentication and spending controls?

The first tool call starts browser-based sign-in and asks you to approve access to a workspace. Glasser creates a client-specific key for that workspace. Cursor also includes an always-on rule for spending safeguards.
