BlockVectra — Claude Code MCP server: RPC and Data API
Wires EVM JSON-RPC, indexed data and BlockVectra docs into your coding agent. Handy when you want to read a chain without leaving the chat.
claude mcp add --transport http docs https://docs.blockvectra.com/mcpWhat BlockVectra: multi-chain RPC & Data API does
The server speaks Streamable HTTP at https://docs.blockvectra.com/mcp. Docs, chain listing, pricing and status need no credentials. Which RPC calls go through keyless depends on the public method policy of each chain; anything outside it needs a BlockVectra key.
Indexed data and account tools stay closed without that key. It travels only in the x-api-key header (or Authorization: Bearer), and the server reads it from HTTP headers alone. Keep keys out of tool arguments and chat, and never hand over a private key.
A local stdio bridge runs on Node.js 22 or newer via npx --yes @blockvectra/[email protected]. It always points at the same endpoint and takes no command-line arguments. On an older Node the bridge will not start. Claude users can install the plugin instead: it brings up the blockvectra MCP server and pulls the blockvectra-rpc skill from blockvectra/skills.
What it helps with
- read contract state on an EVM chain without running a node
- list supported chains and their limits
- check pricing and service status before sending a request
- pull indexed account data with an API key
- load BlockVectra documentation into the agent context
Example prompts for the agent
- List the chains BlockVectra supports.
- Read the quickstart doc in English.
- Make a public read-only call to Robinhood Chain and show me the result.

Questions about BlockVectra: multi-chain RPC & Data API
How do I install BlockVectra in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add --transport http blockvectra-multi-chain-rpc-data-api https://docs.blockvectra.com/mcp. Or install the plugin: /plugin marketplace add blockvectra/mcp first, then /plugin install blockvectra-docs@blockvectra.
What does BlockVectra do?
It gives the agent EVM JSON-RPC access plus the indexed Data API, docs, pricing and status tools. Docs and the service tools work without a key.
Do I need an API key?
Not for docs, chains, pricing or status. Indexed data and account tools require a BlockVectra key, passed in the x-api-key header.
