CryptoCultCurt-appfolio-mcp-server — Claude Code MCP server
An MCP server that exposes the Appfolio Property Manager Reporting API as tools, so your coding agent can pull property and tenant reports without leaving the chat.
claude mcp add --transport http cryptocultcurt-appfolio-mcp-server https://server.smithery.ai/@CryptoCultCurt/appfolio-mcp-server/mcpWhat CryptoCultCurt-appfolio-mcp-server does
The server wraps Appfolio's Reporting API into MCP tools. Claude, Claude, Cursor and the other supported clients pick them up as regular callable functions, and the data comes straight from your own Appfolio account.
Manual setup installs the npm package @fluegeldao/appfolio-mcp-server and registers it in your MCP config with VHOST, USERNAME and PASSWORD. Those three values are your Appfolio API credentials — leave one out and the server has nothing to authenticate against. NODE_OPTIONS with --experimental-vm-modules is optional and depends on your Node version.
Smithery offers a shortcut: npx -y @smithery/cli install @CryptoCultCurt/appfolio-mcp-server --client claude wires it into Claude Desktop. For the remaining clients there are ready-made HTTP add commands.
What it helps with
- pull a property portfolio report without exporting it by hand
- check tenant balances while working on a task
- feed Property Manager data into the agent's context
- wire up Reporting API access through a single MCP config
Example prompts for the agent
- Show me the vacant units report from Appfolio
- List tenants with outstanding balances via appfolio
- Compare last month's property figures from Appfolio
