mcp-server · configcat — Claude Code MCP server: ConfigCat flags in your editor
Wires your coding agent to ConfigCat so it can read, create and edit feature flags through the Management API without leaving the editor.
claude mcp add --env CONFIGCAT_API_USER=<CONFIGCAT_API_USER> --env CONFIGCAT_API_PASS=<CONFIGCAT_API_PASS> --env CONFIGCAT_BASE_URL=<CONFIGCAT_BASE_URL> --transport stdio configcat-mcp-server -- npx -y @configcat/mcp-serverWhat mcp-server does
This server exposes ConfigCat's public Management API as tools. An agent can walk through products, configs and environments, then create, replace or delete feature flags and handle tags, segments, webhooks and organization members. Another tool group returns SDK docs and usage samples so the agent can wire the right ConfigCat SDK into your codebase.
It runs over stdio and starts with npx. Authentication is Basic Auth: CONFIGCAT_API_USER and CONFIGCAT_API_PASS carry the credentials from your ConfigCat account's public API settings. The host is set by CONFIGCAT_BASE_URL, which defaults to https://api.configcat.com.
Diagnostics tools cover audit logs, a report on stale flags and the organization's current usage against its quota. No credentials means no connection to the API, so set up Management API access first.
What it helps with
- create a feature flag from inside the editor
- find flags nobody has touched in a while
- drop ConfigCat SDK examples into a project
- review a product's audit log
- check how much of the organization quota is left
Example prompts for the agent
- List every product and config in ConfigCat
- Create a flag
new-checkoutin the main product's config - Show me the stale flags report
