Clippy — Claude Code MCP server: features and install
Clippy puts files, text, and Markdown into the macOS clipboard for pasting into GUI apps, email, and Slack from a terminal workflow.
Open on GitHubWhat Clippy does
Clippy copies file references to the macOS clipboard, so GUI apps can receive an actual PDF, image, or group of files instead of raw bytes. It also accepts piped data, finds files through Spotlight, selects recent downloads, detects JSON, HTML, and XML, and can clear the clipboard.
The md2rich command prepares Markdown as HTML, RTF, and plain text for Gmail, Mail, and Mimestream. md2slack writes Slack formatting, while the copy_slack MCP tool reports formatting counts and warnings; preview mode leaves the clipboard unchanged. Clippy is macOS-only, so this workflow will not run on another operating system.
