Brazil CNPJ company registry — Claude Code MCP server: setup guide
Connects Brazil's open federal business registry to your AI assistant. Ideal for bulk market research, counting registrations, and mapping corporate partners.
claude mcp add --transport http cnpj-mcp https://cnpj-mcp.fly.dev/mcpWhat Brazil CNPJ company registry does
This server interfaces with monthly open records from Receita Federal, combining establishments, partners, and Simples or MEI tax flags into typed Parquet datasets. Standard public APIs handle single-record lookups without trouble. Instead, this MCP server focuses on analytical bulk queries: tracking business openings across states, filtering by CNAE industry codes, and finding companies sharing an address.
It computes a contact quality score from 0 to 100 based on corporate domains and phone configurations, filtering out generic accounting addresses. It can also deliver details harvested from verified company sites, including direct WhatsApp lines. Since around half of all entries in the dump are closed entities, working with live businesses requires an explicit filter on the situacao status.
You can query the hosted HTTP endpoint or build the dataset locally. Running local ingestion demands curl and unzip inside your PATH, while the final build step requires about 20 GB of free drive space for sorting.
What it helps with
- aggregate Brazilian company formations by region and CNAE sector
- identify businesses registered at the exact same location
- separate direct business phones from shared accountant contacts
- retrieve corporate partners and linked company owners
Example prompts for the agent
- Count how many MEI records were registered in Minas Gerais each month since 2023.
- List active grain companies in Mato Grosso with high contact reliability scores.
- Check which firms share this specific address and retrieve their partners.
