Bitculator — Claude Code MCP server: crypto data for your agent
Feeds your agent live and historical crypto market data: prices, OHLCV candles, sentiment indices, technical indicators. Hosted remote server, nothing to run locally.
claude mcp add --transport http bitculator https://bitculator.com/mcpWhat Bitculator does
Bitculator exposes 19 read-only tools. An agent resolves a coin by name or symbol, pulls its profile, candles for a date range, the price on a past day, and the biggest movers over 24 hours or a week. Exchange coverage sits alongside: a ranked list by volume, a single-exchange profile, a trust score broken into 13 factors, and the tickers where a coin trades. There is also a whole-market snapshot with market cap and the Fear & Greed index, an altseason index, currency conversion, and a dollar-cost-averaging backtest against real price history.
The server is hosted and speaks Streamable HTTP at https://bitculator.com/mcp. Your client points at that URL and presents a key, sent either as Authorization: Bearer <key> or X-API-Key: <key>. MCP keys are their own product: a Data API or widget key comes back 401 unauthenticated, so an existing key from elsewhere will not work. The free MCP plan needs no card, though some tools sit behind a paid plan.
Prices, rates and supplies arrive as decimal strings, so precision survives the trip. Every tool publishes an outputSchema, and results come back both as text and as structuredContent. Keep the key in your client settings or an environment variable rather than a file you commit.
What it helps with
- check what a coin cost on a given past date
- pull OHLCV candles for a date range
- see which exchanges list a coin and at what volume
- read the market-wide Fear & Greed index
- backtest a dollar-cost-averaging plan on real prices
Example prompts for the agent
- Resolve the coin with ticker SOL and show its profile
- Give me OHLCV candles for BTC over the last month
- Run a DCA backtest for ETH over the past year

Questions about Bitculator
How do I install Bitculator in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add --transport http bitculator https://bitculator.com/mcp, then pass your key with --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY".
What does Bitculator do?
It hands your agent crypto market data: prices, OHLCV history, indicators, exchanges, liquidations and currency conversion, spread across 19 read-only tools.
Can I use my Data API key?
No. MCP keys are a separate product, and a Data API or widget key is rejected with 401 unauthenticated. Create a new one in the MCP console.
