Audionaut — Claude Code MCP server: audio editing, install
This MCP server lets an AI agent edit Audionaut multitrack projects by cutting, fading, analysing and exporting audio. The Audionaut app is required.
claude mcp add --env AUDIONAUT_CLI=<AUDIONAUT_CLI> --transport stdio audionaut-mcp -- npx -y audionaut-mcpWhat Audionaut does
Audionaut connects an AI agent to open multitrack projects through MCP. The agent can cut audio, set fade-in and fade-out points, analyse a project and export the result. The project stays open in the Audionaut desktop app.
You need Audionaut and Node.js 18+ before connecting the server. On macOS, projects should be kept in the Music folder. The app is a hard requirement: without Audionaut installed and open, this server cannot edit the project.
The server is listed for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf (Devin Desktop), Cline and Zed. In Claude Code, add it with claude mcp add audionaut -- npx -y audionaut-mcp.
What it helps with
- cut a multitrack audio project into sections
- add fade-in and fade-out effects
- analyse an audio project
- export an edited project
- apply edits through an AI agent
Example prompts for the agent
- Cut the open project into separate sections and close the gaps between them.
- Add a smooth fade-in and fade-out to the selected track.
- Analyse this project and export the edited result.
