ApexCharts — Claude Code MCP server: chart and map configs
Lets an AI assistant build and check ApexCharts configs: charts, gantt, tree, sankey, grid, stock and maps.
claude mcp add --transport http mcp https://mcp.apexcharts.com/mcpWhat ApexCharts does
The server hands the assistant tools for seven ApexCharts products, namespaced as apexcharts_*, apexgantt_*, apextree_*, apexsankey_*, apexgrid_*, apexstock_* and apexmaps_*. Each product ships generate_config to build a config from a short spec, validate_config to check one and return structured issues, and get_reference to pull that product's knowledge base. The chart tools add apexcharts_list_types, a catalog of supported chart types, while apexcharts_list_products reports the products and the library versions their guidance targets.
Two ways to connect. The hosted option needs no Node.js: point the client at https://mcp.apexcharts.com/mcp. The local one runs through npx -y apexcharts-mcp. Restart the client afterwards. The assistant picks the tools itself, so you never call them by hand.
All seven products register by default. Set APEXCHARTS_MCP_PRODUCTS to a comma-separated list of ids — charts, gantt, tree, sankey, grid, stock, maps — to narrow that down; unknown ids are skipped with a stderr warning and the server still starts. For a shared setup, npx -y apexcharts-mcp --http --port 3000 serves it over the network. The server keeps no state and every tool call is read-only, so GET and DELETE on /mcp answer 405. Exposing it publicly means setting APEXCHARTS_MCP_ALLOWED_HOSTS to your hostname, since the default only answers for localhost, 127.0.0.1 and [::1].
What it helps with
- generate a chart config from a short spec
- work out why a chart fails to render
- validate an existing config against common mistakes
- check the data format ApexGantt wants for dependencies
- read the reference for one ApexCharts product
Example prompts for the agent
- Here is my pie chart config, why is it not rendering?
- What data format does ApexGantt expect for dependencies?

Questions about ApexCharts
How do I install ApexCharts in Claude Code?
For the hosted server run claude mcp add --transport http apexcharts https://mcp.apexcharts.com/mcp. For a local run use claude mcp add apexcharts -- npx -y apexcharts-mcp. Restart the client after that.
What does the ApexCharts MCP server do?
It gives the assistant tools to generate and validate configs for ApexCharts products, plus on-demand access to their references.
Can I load only some of the products?
Yes, through APEXCHARTS_MCP_PRODUCTS with a comma-separated list of ids. Unknown ids are skipped and the server starts anyway.
