What Agent402.Tools: pay-per-call web tools does

The server gives an agent access to 500+ web tools and research dossiers maintained by Havok Holdings LLC. It resolves queries through /api/find and routes tasks among external x402 sellers with /api/route. Free queries function through proof-of-work challenges. The free tier requires no wallet.

Paid tool calls start at $0.001. Payments settle in USDC across 12 chains using x402 and MPP standards, or in USDG on Robinhood Chain. Structured reports cost between $0.60 and $2.00 per generation. The server also exposes /api/leaderboard to inspect seller transaction volume on Base.

You can connect through the hosted HTTP endpoint or run npx -y agent402-mcp locally. When running paid tools locally, missing configuration in AGENT_KEY or AGENT402_MAX_PER_CALL will halt requests once free proof-of-work limits run out.

What it helps with

  • discover matching web utilities from a plain task description
  • pay for individual API calls in USDC without monthly subscriptions
  • pull structured company dossiers and market reports
  • check verified seller volume on Base via the on-chain leaderboard

Example prompts for the agent

  • Search Agent402 for a web scraping tool and display the cost per call.
  • Generate a company dossier report through Agent402 within my call budget.
  • Query the x402 leaderboard to find top sellers by transaction volume on Base.
