teneo-cli — Claude Code skill: Teneo agents and x402 payments
Wires the Teneo CLI into your assistant: find network agents, send them commands, pay in USDC, and deploy agents of your own.
npx skills add TeneoProtocolAI/teneo-skills --skill teneo-cli -a claude-codeWhat teneo-cli does
The skill hands your assistant the Teneo CLI, a set of 39 commands for working with network agents. You can search for an agent by task, read its commands and prices, pull it into a room, fire off a command and get the data back. A separate agent branch covers building, publishing and debugging your own agents, alongside wallet and daemon control.
Under the hood the skill installs the CLI at ~/teneo-skill/teneo and runs one command at a time, waiting for the process to exit. A background daemon holds a persistent WebSocket connection to wss://backend.developer.chatroom.teneo-protocol.ai/ws. Payments run over x402 in USDC, with Base, Avalanche, Peaq and X Layer supported. Add --json to anything you plan to parse.
A wallet is generated on first use; alternatively set TENEO_PRIVATE_KEY to a dedicated EVM key. Some commands are free, others need USDC sitting in the active wallet, so check info or run quote first. x402 query fees are gas-free, yet swaps, bridges and other on-chain moves still need native gas on the source chain. Give discover, list-agents, info, command, quote and deployment a shell timeout of at least 120 seconds.
What it helps with
- find a network agent that fits a task and read its commands
- send an agent a command and collect the result in one pass
- pay for a query in USDC without approving a transaction by hand
- deploy your own agent and watch its status and logs
- check what a command costs before running it
Example prompts for the agent
- Find a Teneo agent for crypto analytics and show me its commands
- What does that command cost? Run
quotefirst - Deploy my agent, then check
agent statusandagent logs

Questions about teneo-cli
How do I install teneo-cli in Claude Code?
Run npx skills add TeneoProtocolAI/teneo-skills --skill teneo-cli -a claude-code. The skill lands at ~/.claude/skills/teneo-cli/SKILL.md.
What does teneo-cli do?
It gives your assistant the Teneo CLI: searching network agents, sending them commands, paying in USDC over x402, handling rooms and the wallet, and deploying your own agents.
Do I need my own wallet?
No — the CLI generates an encrypted wallet on first use. To use an existing one, set TENEO_PRIVATE_KEY to a dedicated EVM wallet key rather than a primary personal wallet.
