AEM Content Manager (ACM) — Claude Code MCP server
Connects AI agents to Adobe Experience Manager via ACM. Enables validating and running Groovy code across author and publish environments directly from chat.
claude mcp add acm-mcp-server -e ACM_CONFIG_FILE=<ACM_CONFIG_FILE> -e ACM_CONFIG=<ACM_CONFIG> -- npx -y @wppes/acm-mcp-serverWhat AEM Content Manager (ACM) does
This server links MCP-compatible assistants to Adobe Experience Manager instances over standard I/O. Through ACM endpoints, the model runs Groovy jobs and monitors background execution. It can also inspect console output directly. You can register multiple author and publish nodes to compare differences across instances.
Every request executes under the credentials supplied in the configuration file. The server handles basic authentication for local setups and bearer tokens for cloud deployments. Mark sensitive environments with readonly: true to prevent the model from altering critical nodes.
Setup requires Node.js 22 or later. ACM must be installed on every target AEM host. If you intend to execute scripts without logging history entries, ACM 0.9.74 or newer is required.
What it helps with
- execute and debug Groovy scripts on AEM
- inspect logs and console output from background runs
- compare configuration and content between author and publish
- check connectivity across cloud and local AEM instances
Example prompts for the agent
- Call
acm_healthto verify all configured AEM environments. - Run this Groovy cleanup script on the local-author instance.
- Check execution logs from the latest script run on dev.

Questions about AEM Content Manager (ACM)
How do I install AEM Content Manager (ACM) in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add acm-mcp-server -e ACM_CONFIG_FILE=<ACM_CONFIG_FILE> -e ACM_CONFIG=<ACM_CONFIG> -- npx -y @wppes/acm-mcp-server. Provide the path to your instance definitions in ACM_CONFIG_FILE.
What does this MCP server do?
It bridges your agent to Adobe Experience Manager through the ACM toolset. The assistant can validate Groovy scripts, execute them against configured targets, and track output logs.
What dependencies are needed before running the server?
You need Node.js 22 or higher and an active ACM installation on each AEM instance. Disabling execution history logs requires ACM version 0.9.74 or above.
