‘Variation in product mix’ weighs on RGB earnings, with second-quarter profit down 26% YoY

Malaysia-based gaming equipment supplier RGB International posted a 15% revenue increase to MYR109.63 million ($27.22 million) in the second quarter of 2026. Profit before tax fell 26% to MYR11.92 million ($2.96 million).

The Sales and Marketing segment drove revenue growth, up 20% to MYR93.10 million ($23.11 million) on higher sales volume. Pre-tax profit in the segment dropped 21% to MYR11.97 million ($2.97 million). RGB attributed the decline to a shift in product mix. Group gross profit fell 10% to MYR23.72 million ($5.89 million), while EBITDA declined 21% to MYR14.10 million ($3.50 million).

Technical Support and Management revenue slipped 3% to MYR15.76 million ($3.91 million), but pre-tax profit climbed 41% to MYR1.39 million on lower operating and administrative costs.

For the first half of 2026, RGB revenue rose 17% to MYR197.01 million ($48.91 million), while shareholder profit dropped 27% to MYR19.40 million ($4.82 million). Technical Support and Management revenue for the half fell 17% due to weak performance at key sites and closures in Poipet, Cambodia, since June 2025.

Management expressed cautious optimism for 2026 but flagged risks from regulatory shifts, economic conditions and consumer demand in core markets. RGB will continue seeking expansion opportunities in the Philippines, Cambodia and Vietnam. The company declared a second interim dividend of MYR0.003 per share, payable 16 October.
