Wagers of up to $10 accounted for 74% of betting transactions in Brazil during Q2

Wagers up to 50 reais ($10) accounted for around 74% of all betting transactions on Brazilian platforms in the second quarter of 2026, yet delivered only 23% of total financial volume. The market runs on micro-transactions.

The data comes from Paag, a tech company specialising in regulated-market analytics. The study covered transactions from the company's client base between April and June 2026.

Bets up to 20 reais ($4) made up 45% of transaction count but just 8% of turnover. The 20–50 reais ($4–$10) bracket added another 29% of transactions and 15% of volume. Frequent player activity is tied to small, regular deposits.

Larger wagers tell the opposite story. Transactions above 50 reais ($10) brought in roughly 77% of financial turnover for the quarter. The 50–1,000 reais ($10–$200) range contributed 57% of volume. Bets above 1,000 reais ($200) made up less than 1% by count but around 20% by value.

'Analysis of this data is critical to understanding the sector's trajectory and where we can improve operations and player protection. Today, data provides operational predictability for the market — micro-transactions dominate,' said João Fraga, CEO of Paag.

Player activity peaks between the 8th and 20th of each month, with the highest point between the 16th and 22nd. The largest volume and value in Q2 was recorded on the 20th. Activity tapers off toward month-end.

Evening is prime betting time: 39% of transactions occur between 18:00 and 23:00. The 25–49 age group accounts for around 80% of financial volume. São Paulo leads in transaction volume and value. The South and Central-West regions show the highest average ticket, while the North and Northeast are growing user bases.
