YouTube has become the first platform to receive Media Rating Council (MRC) brand safety accreditation for short-form video. The certification covers YouTube Shorts, which averages 200 billion views per day.
This is YouTube's sixth consecutive MRC accreditation, but the first to include short-form content. The certification applies to all three inventory control tiers: Maximum, Moderate and Limited Mode. Advertisers can now set brand safety parameters across both long-form and Shorts inventory using the same controls.
MRC accreditation confirms that YouTube's moderation systems meet industry standards and place ads alongside suitable content. For arbitrage buyers and operators running Shorts campaigns through direct buys or CPA networks, it signals stable inventory with lower risk of blocks due to problematic adjacency.
