Macau September GGR falls 1.2% to $2.24B, lowest monthly total of 2026

Macau's gross gaming revenue fell to MOP 18.06 billion ($2.24 billion) in September, the lowest monthly figure this year. The Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau published the data on 1 October. Revenue dropped 17.5% from August, when GGR reached MOP 21.89 billion ($2.71 billion).

The result matched Citigroup's revised forecast of MOP 18 billion, which the bank lowered after a weak survey of premium-mass tables. Visitor traffic continued to grow: during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday (25–27 September) Macau received around 415,000 visitors, up 19.5% year-on-year. Revenue fell anyway.

For the first nine months GGR totalled MOP 187.116 billion ($23.19 billion), up 3.2% on the same period last year. The growth rate slowed from 3.7% recorded at the eight-month mark. The gap to pre-pandemic levels remains wide: the nine-month figure is 15.1% below 2019, September alone 18.2% below the pre-pandemic September.
