EGT secures UAE license to supply land-based gaming products

Bulgarian gaming equipment manufacturer EGT has received a vendor license from the UAE's General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) to supply land-based products to licensed operators.

Nadia Popova, chief revenue officer and vice president for sales and marketing at EGT, called the UAE one of the most promising emerging gaming jurisdictions globally. The license gives the company access to a market with significant long-term potential. EGT's products are installed in over 100 countries.

The supplier joins Aristocrat, International Game Technology, Light & Wonder, Novomatic, Konami and Scientific Games on GCGRA's list of licensed vendors.

Wynn Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah remains the only licensed land-based casino in the UAE. Wynn Resorts plans to open the property in September 2027. The market is in its formation stage but has already attracted the world's largest equipment suppliers.

For the gambling industry, the UAE represents a new growth point in the Middle East. Legalisation in a country with high tourist traffic and a high-spending audience may shift the regional balance.
