Gaming equipment supplier Zitro has received a vendor license in the United Arab Emirates. The company did not disclose which products are covered by the approval or when it will begin supplying content to the Emirati market.
Zitro manufactures slot machines, video bingo and online casino content. The company said the license supports its international expansion and allows participation in the UAE's developing commercial gaming sector. Zitro's president for international operations, Sebastian Salat, said the license offers an opportunity to supply products built for premium destinations, with focus on design, performance and elegance.
The UAE has been liberalising its gaming legislation in recent years. Ras Al Khaimah has issued several operator licenses, including to Wynn Resorts. But details of supplier and equipment regulation remain closed. It is unclear whether Zitro's approval covers retail, online or both segments.
For B2B suppliers the Emirati market is blank space with potential. Without specifics on timing and products, real volumes are too early to judge. Zitro operates in Europe, Latin America and the US; entry into the UAE makes sense if a full retail segment with premium venues develops there.
