What weekly-review does

weekly-review analyzes your commit history on the main branch over the last 7–10 days, excluding merge commits. It groups meaningful changes into 2–5 bullets and adds a classification: which were bug fixes, which tech debt, which new functionality. It reads the git config to find your email, scans diffs, and infers the work type from them.

The output is short and executive-ready, without noise. If your repo's git email is not configured, the skill asks you to set it first. Runs on Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI, and OpenCode.

What it helps with

  • Pull a weekly report of your commits for status updates
  • Quick breakdown of bugfixes, tech debt, and new features you shipped this week
  • Prepare data for sprint retrospectives or planning
  • Extract key milestones from git history without manual digging

Example prompts for the agent

  • Generate my weekly commit report
  • Give me a weekly-review for the last 10 days
  • Break down my commits into bugfixes, tech debt, and new features
