write-issue — Claude Code skill: what it does, how to install
Enforces GitHub issue formatting and triage standards based on the tldraw repository. It helps draft clear titles, structure descriptions, and manage labels.
npx skills add tldraw/tldraw --skill write-issue -a claude-codeWhat write-issue does
The skill standardizes GitHub issue creation according to conventions from the tldraw project. Titles must use sentence case without type prefixes such as Bug or Feature. Enhancements take the imperative mood, while bug titles describe the observed symptom directly. Non-English titles get translated into English so anyone can grasp the problem without opening the issue.
When drafting issues, the agent writes a concise product-level summary of the problem without file paths, code blocks, or implementation recipes. A numbered list of open questions follows, highlighting blocking items. At the very bottom, a confidence percentage shows whether enough context exists to begin work.
Setting the issue type requires a GitHub GraphQL API call because the --type CLI flag does not work reliably. The guidelines also explicitly forbid adding AI attribution lines unless the issue specifically concerns AI tooling.
What it helps with
- rewrite vague issue titles into clear sentence-case summaries
- organize bug reports with reproduction steps and environment details
- track unresolved questions and blocking details before implementation
- apply appropriate metadata labels without touching automation tags
Example prompts for the agent
- Draft a GitHub issue for pinch zoom resetting the selection in Safari
- Convert this bug report into a standard tldraw issue title and description
- Triage this feature request and list open blocking questions
