What wanman-agent-matrix does

wanman-agent-matrix is a reference skill for wanman, an open-source local agent matrix runtime. A supervisor process runs on your machine and talks to the CLI over JSON-RPC 2.0 on HTTP. Every agent gets its own worktree and its own $HOME, so your working directory and shell profile stay untouched.

The skill covers the CLI surface: wanman takeover <path> takes over a git repo, wanman run <goal> spins up a matrix for a single goal, wanman send and wanman recv move messages between agents, and wanman watch streams activity live. Other command groups handle a shared task pool, initiatives, change capsules, artifacts, hypotheses and shared context. Agents are declared in .wanman/config.json with a lifecycle of 24/7, on-demand or idle_cached.

Building from source needs Node.js 20+, pnpm 9+, git and a logged-in Claude or Codex CLI. The idle_cached lifecycle keeps the Claude session_id alive through claude --resume, so pairing it with the codex runtime fails at startup — worth deciding on WANMAN_RUNTIME before you configure agents. The supervisor address comes from WANMAN_URL and defaults to http://localhost:3120.
