What camel-matrix does

The skill runs scripts/camel-springboot-matrix.sh and writes the result to target/camel-springboot-matrix.md in the current project directory. It creates target/ on its own when the folder is missing. When the run finishes, the skill reports how many Camel versions were processed and prints the last 5 rows of the table so you can check the output.

Version range comes from the arguments. With none, the minimum is 4.14.0 and the script fetches up to the latest available version. Pass two numbers, say 4.0.0 4.15.0, and only versions inside that range get processed. bash is required, since the version lookup and table assembly live in the shell script.

The skill installs into Claude, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI and OpenCode. Its file sits at a path like ~/.claude/skills/camel-matrix/SKILL.md, so it is worth checking that your platform's skills directory matches.

What it helps with

  • generate a Camel Spring Boot compatibility table
  • check which Spring Boot version pairs with a given Camel release
  • refresh the matrix before a project upgrade
  • limit the run to a version range
  • get a ready Markdown report under target/

Example prompts for the agent

  • generate the Camel compatibility matrix
  • update camel-springboot-matrix for range 4.0.0 4.15.0
  • run camel-matrix and show the last rows of the table

Questions about camel-matrix

How do I install camel-matrix in Claude?

Run npx skills add dboeckli/ai-agent-skills --skill camel-matrix -a claude-code. The skill lands in ~/.claude/skills/camel-matrix/SKILL.md.

What does camel-matrix do?

It runs scripts/camel-springboot-matrix.sh and creates target/camel-springboot-matrix.md with a compatibility table for Apache Camel Spring Boot, Spring Boot and Apache CXF versions.

How do I set a version range?

Pass two arguments, for example 4.0.0 4.15.0. With no arguments the minimum is 4.14.0 and the upper bound is left open.

# Camel Spring Boot Compatibility Matrix

Run `scripts/camel-springboot-matrix.sh` (bundled in this skill) to generate `target/camel-springboot-matrix.md` relative to the current project directory. The `target/` directory is created automatically if it does not exist.

## Arguments

The user may provide an optional version range: `$ARGUMENTS`

- No arguments: use the default range `4.14.0` to latest (see below)
- Two arguments (e.g. `4.0.0 4.15.0`): only versions in that range are processed

## Steps

1. Run the script. If no version range is given by the user, default to `4.14.0` as minimum and omit the max argument (so the script fetches up to the latest available version):

```bash
bash "${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/scripts/camel-springboot-matrix.sh" ${ARGUMENTS:-4.14.0}
```

2. After completion, report:
   - How many Camel versions were processed
   - That `target/camel-springboot-matrix.md` was created/updated in the current project directory
   - The last 5 rows of the generated table so the user can verify the output
