ae-team — Claude Code skill: ae-cli commands for AI agent teams
A reference skill for ae-cli: manage agent teams and run TeamRuns. Useful when the agent should find a team itself and carry a task through to artifacts.
npx skills add ThinkingAIAgenticEngine/ae-cli --skill ae-team -a claude-codeWhat ae-team does
The skill documents ae-cli, the command line for the AE (Agentic Engine) platform. Two groups of commands: team management (+list, +create, +update, +delete, +ai-generate, +list-templates, +list-projects) and TeamRun execution (+run-start, +run-watch, +run-chat, +run-cancel, +run-reply, +run-result, +run-artifacts).
Before any call the agent must read references/<command>.md, where the filename matches the command without the plus. Team IDs, run IDs and config JSON must never be guessed — they come from +list or +list-templates. That rule is where the skill breaks first if the step gets skipped.
Output is JSON by default, with --format table, a --jq filter, --host to override the active AE host and --dry-run to inspect the request. Deleting a team goes through a confirmation gate and needs --yes; active runs return 409. A waiting_user status means a pause: +run-watch exits with code 2, so show the question to the user and answer with +run-reply.
What it helps with
- Skipping
references/<command>.mdbefore a call — the agent invents parameters and fails. - Made-up team IDs and run IDs instead of real ones from
+list. - Deleting a team without
--yes, or while runs are active — 409.
Example prompts for the agent
- List the available agent teams with
ae-cli team +listand show them as a table. - Start a TeamRun for a team from the list and follow its status with
+run-watch. - Show the artifacts from the last completed run.

Questions about ae-team
How do I install ae-team in Claude?
Run npx skills add ThinkingAIAgenticEngine/ae-cli --skill ae-team -a claude-code. The skill file lands in ~/.claude/skills/ae-team/SKILL.md.
What does the skill need to work?
ae-cli installed and access to an AE host. Every command goes through ae-cli team +<command>, so without the CLI the skill does nothing.
Why did a run stop at waiting_user?
The team is waiting on a human answer. +run-watch exits with code 2 and the question sits in pendingQuestion; send the reply with +run-reply.
