What user-context does

user-context keeps the references that Product Design uses in later work: product links, Figma files, screenshots, images, codebase paths, Storybook, tokens, design systems, and brand assets. The skill can also show saved entries, update them, and remember product or design preferences.

The context is stored in $CODEX_HOME/state/plugins/product-design/user-context.md; images go in the neighboring assets/ directory. Before saving, python3 scripts/user_context_preflight.py checks local shell access and the target directory. Setup uses python3 scripts/init_user_context.py. Secrets, credentials, and API keys should not be stored there.

Install it when Product Design repeatedly relies on the same sources. A one-off task with no persistent context does not need this skill.
