twitter · starchild-ai-agent — Claude Code skill: what it does, how to install
Read-only Twitter and X integration for fetching tweets and user profiles. It handles link lookups and searches without getting blocked by anti-scraping measures.
npx skills add Starchild-ai-agent/official-skills --skill twitter -a claude-codeWhat twitter does
The skill gives agents read-only access to thirteen twitterapi.io endpoints through the sc-proxy gateway. It runs Python scripts to pull tweet contents or user bios. Because TWITTER_API_KEY is injected server-side by the proxy, no local API keys are required on the host machine.
Tweet IDs extracted from x.com or twitter.com URLs must be passed as strings, preventing integer precision loss in Python. Handles must be formatted without the leading @ symbol. For account monitoring, running an advanced search query with timestamps is significantly cheaper than fetching recent user posts, which always bills a full twenty-item batch.
What it helps with
- fetch user bios, metrics, and follower lists
- retrieve reply threads and quote posts for a tweet
- search posts using filters like cashtags and like counts
- check regional and global trending topics
Example prompts for the agent
- Summarize recent posts by user vitalikbuterin
- Search Twitter for $SOL min_faves:50
- Extract the full reply thread for tweet ID 1234567890

Questions about twitter
How to install twitter in Claude Code?
Run npx skills add Starchild-ai-agent/official-skills --skill twitter -a claude-code. The skill file is placed at ~/.claude/skills/twitter/SKILL.md.
What does the twitter skill do?
It allows coding agents to fetch Twitter data via Python functions, covering profiles, search, replies, and trends. It is strictly read-only and does not post content.
Why should account polling use search instead of recent tweets?
The recent tweets endpoint lacks a page size parameter and bills for twenty items every run. Advanced search with a time window bills only one item when no new posts exist.
