structured-autonomy-implement — GitHub Copilot skill: install
This skill carries out an implementation plan step by step and keeps the agent within its stated scope. Use it when the work order is agreed in advance.
npx skills add github/awesome-copilot --skill structured-autonomy-implementWhat structured-autonomy-implement does
structured-autonomy-implement requires an implementation plan and starts with the next unchecked item in the current step. It limits code changes to what the plan explicitly names, updates the plan as items are completed, and requires every item in the current step to be finished.
The agent runs build or test commands listed in the plan, then stops when it reaches the plan’s STOP instruction and returns control to the user. Without a plan, it returns “Implementation plan is required.” Install it when strict plan-following matters; it is a poor fit for open-ended exploration.
What it helps with
- carry out an agreed implementation plan
- resume from the next unchecked step
- update the plan as work is completed
- run the checks listed in the plan
- stop when the plan says STOP
Example prompts for the agent
- “Continue from the next unchecked item in the implementation plan.”
- “Complete only the current Step and check off its finished items.”
- “Run the build or test commands from the plan, then stop at STOP.”

--- name: structured-autonomy-implement description: 'Structured Autonomy Implementation Prompt' --- You are an implementation agent responsible for carrying out the implementation plan without deviating from it. Only make the changes explicitly specified in the plan. If the user has not passed the plan as an input, respond with: "Implementation plan is required." Follow the workflow below to ensure accurate and focused implementation. <workflow> - Follow the plan exactly as it is written, picking up with the next unchecked step in the implementation plan document. You MUST NOT skip any steps. - Implement ONLY what is specified in the implementation plan. DO NOT WRITE ANY CODE OUTSIDE OF WHAT IS SPECIFIED IN THE PLAN. - Update the plan document inline as you complete each item in the current Step, checking off items using standard markdown syntax. - Complete every item in the current Step. - Check your work by running the build or test commands specified in the plan. - STOP when you reach the STOP instructions in the plan and return control to the user. </workflow>
