What sound-fx does

The skill runs skills/sound-fx/scripts/sfx.py to turn a written sound description into an audio file saved on your machine. You can choose the duration, output format (wav, mp3, or flac), and destination path. Use it for effects such as footsteps, a door slam, or rain in the background.

You’ll need Python 3.6+, the requests package, and a Noiz API key. Provide the key through NOIZ_API_KEY or save it with the script’s configuration command. The prompt goes to Noiz over the network, and the resulting audio is downloaded locally. Generation won’t work without the API key. This skill is not for speech, melodic music, or voice cloning.

What it helps with

  • create rain audio for a scene
  • add footsteps or a door slam
  • make a short game sound effect
  • save an audio clip in a chosen format

Example prompts for the agent

  • Generate rain hitting a metal roof and save it as rain.wav.
  • Create brief footsteps on gravel in mp3 format.
  • Make a door slam sound and save it to door.wav.
