What template-skill does

This skill provides a starting blueprint for authoring agent skills. It sets a standard layout. Inside lies a SKILL.md document structure that teaches an agent when to activate and how to behave.

The outline includes triggers, use cases, input parameters, and output formats. It maps out a five-stage sequence, starting with parameter validation and finishing with retry fallbacks. Because boundaries are part of the specification, leaving out limitation rules will cause unexpected behavior during edge cases.

What it helps with

  • scaffold a new agent skill using a standard template
  • define explicit trigger keywords for automatic skill invocation
  • specify required input schemas and expected output formats
  • document fallback steps and operational limits for the agent

Example prompts for the agent

  • Scaffold a new skill using template-skill for reviewing pull requests.
  • Fill out the template-skill structure for a server log parsing tool.
