roadmap-communicator — Claude Code skill: what it does, how to install
This skill prepares roadmaps, release notes, changelogs, and stakeholder updates for executives, engineers, and customers. Use it when one change needs several versions.
/plugin marketplace add alirezarezvani/claude-skills
/plugin install product-skills@claude-code-skillsWhat roadmap-communicator does
roadmap-communicator creates product communication artifacts for different audiences. It covers roadmap presentations, board and engineering updates, customer announcements, release notes, and changelogs generated from Git history. The skill supports Now / Next / Later, timeline, and theme-based roadmaps, so the format can match uncertainty, fixed launch dates, or outcome-led planning.
The package includes templates in references/roadmap-templates.md and references/communication-templates.md. Its scripts/changelog_generator.py script reads a git log range, parses conventional commit prefixes, and groups entries by types such as feat, fix, and chore. Run it with python3 scripts/changelog_generator.py --from v1.0.0 --to HEAD.
Install it when the same product work must be explained differently to executives, engineering teams, and customers. It is more than you need for a plain commit list.
What it helps with
- build a Now / Next / Later roadmap
- prepare a board or engineering stakeholder update
- write customer-facing release notes
- generate a changelog from a Git range
- structure a feature announcement
Example prompts for the agent
- Prepare a roadmap update for executives. Focus on outcomes, risks, and decisions needed.
- Generate a changelog from `v1.0.0` to `HEAD` with `python3 scripts/changelog_generator.py --from v1.0.0 --to HEAD`.
- Write customer release notes that lead with user value and separate what is available now from what is upcoming.
