qt-qml-review — Claude Code skill for Qt6 QML review
Reviews Qt6 QML in two passes: a deterministic linter, then agents over seven rule domains. One report, only high-confidence findings.
npx skills add TheQtCompanyRnD/agent-skills --skill qt-qml-review -a claude-codeWhat qt-qml-review does
Ask for a review, audit or check of QML code and this skill takes over. A dependency-free Python linter runs first with more than 48 checks split across rule families IMP, ORD, BND, LAY, LDR, DEL, STA, IMG, PRF, STY, SIG, ERR, JS. When qmllint is present it runs too and its warnings merge into the report as QL:<id> rows. No Python on the machine? The skill warns and carries on.
Deep analysis follows, covering seven areas: bindings and properties, layout and anchoring, component loading, ListView delegates, states and transitions, performance, logic and wiring. Scope size decides how it runs. Up to 1500 lines the analysis happens inline in the main context; past that the files are cut into shards of about 1500 lines, at most six agents in parallel. A --diff mode limits findings to changed lines, which makes reviewing one commit cheaper than auditing a whole directory.
The skill is read-only and suggests fixes rather than applying them. Anything below the confidence cutoff is dropped, so nitpicks stay out of the report. Diff mode needs a git repository to work from. Type-level checks depend on a Qt 6 install: the linter looks for qmllint in $QT_HOST_PATH/bin, on PATH and in the newest online-installer kit. If your Qt sits somewhere non-standard, pass --qmllint=<kit>/bin once instead of hunting further.
What it helps with
- lint a QML directory and get a summary grouped by rule
- review only the changed lines before committing
- spot slow delegates and component loading
- run
qmllinttype checks alongside the other findings - split a large codebase without flooding the context
Example prompts for the agent
- Review the changes in
qml/before I commit, diff only - Audit
src/uiand focus on delegates and bindings - Look over this commit and tell me what to fix before pushing

Questions about qt-qml-review
How do I install qt-qml-review in Claude Code?
Run npx skills add TheQtCompanyRnD/agent-skills --skill qt-qml-review -a claude-code; the skill then sits at ~/.claude/skills/qt-qml-review/SKILL.md.
What does qt-qml-review do?
It reviews Qt6 QML: a deterministic linter runs first, seven domains of analysis follow, and you get one report with no code changes.
Do I need Qt installed?
The Python linter works on its own for style and performance findings. Type-level checks through qmllint need Qt 6 somewhere the linter can find it.
