qt-cpp-review — Claude Code skill: what it does, how to install
Reviews Qt6 C++ diffs or codebases before commits. Combines a 60-rule deterministic linter with deep agent analysis for threading, model contracts, and ownership.
npx skills add TheQtCompanyRnD/agent-skills --skill qt-cpp-review -a claude-codeWhat qt-cpp-review does
This skill provides a read-only review pipeline tailored for Qt6 C++ codebases. It executes in two structured stages. First, a standalone Python script evaluates code against more than 60 rules covering include hygiene, error propagation, model contracts, and lifecycle patterns. Next, it triggers an agent-driven analysis focusing on thread safety, API correctness, and performance hotspots. Findings only make it into the final report when the confidence score exceeds 80 out of 100.
The review workflow protects token budgets. For scopes under 2,500 lines, the orchestrator handles the analysis inline. When reviewing larger changes, it splits the files into shards of roughly 2,500 lines and passes each slice to an isolated agent. Adding the framework flag activates checks for private d-pointers, export macros, CMake module setups, and binary compatibility.
The deterministic phase relies on Python 3.7+ installed locally without third-party packages. If Python is missing, the tool issues a warning and proceeds with the diff list generated by git.
What it helps with
- audit Qt6 C++ changes before committing
- detect thread safety and object lifecycle defects
- verify Qt model contracts and data handling
- enforce export macros and d-pointer rules in framework mode
Example prompts for the agent

- /qt-cpp-review framework
- Audit my staged Qt6 changes before I commit

Questions about qt-cpp-review
How to install qt-cpp-review in Claude Code?
Run npx skills add TheQtCompanyRnD/agent-skills --skill qt-cpp-review -a claude-code.
Does qt-cpp-review modify source files?
No. The review is strictly read-only and uses non-destructive inspection tools like grep and git diff without changing your repository.
What dependencies are required for the lint stage?
The deterministic lint script requires Python 3.7 or newer without third-party dependencies. If Python is unavailable, the review issues a warning and continues without the script.
