What pricing-packaging-tracker does

The skill reads public pricing pages and sorts what it finds into a set schema: tiers, billing units, which features gate which tier, usage limits, the free-tier line, and enterprise signals. Every entry carries a URL and an as-of date. The schema stays put between runs because the diff is the whole point: run N is compared with run N-1, and only what moved lands in the report.

Structure gets closer attention than the numbers. A capability that shifts tiers or a level that vanishes often hints at a strategy change before the rate card does. Statements are tagged as fact, inference or assumption, and opaque prices are not filled in: whatever is public gets recorded, the rest is marked as such.

A run starts in one of two modes. Hand it an earlier capture and you get delta mode, changes only. Start from nothing and it does a full baseline, then stops; the deltas begin next time. Competitor list and prior capture go straight into the invocation. A run takes 15–30 min. If pricing is hidden across the whole set, expect thin output — the author points to other skills in the same repo for that case.

What it helps with

  • keep battle-card pricing sections current without manual screenshots
  • spot a packaging restructure before the price itself moves
  • build a pricing time series to ground your own decisions
  • check whether any competitor changed pricing or tiers this quarter
  • separate hard price facts from your own guesses

Example prompts for the agent

  • Baseline the pricing pages of Competitor A, Competitor B and Competitor C, then track them monthly.
  • Here is last April's capture — diff it against the current pages and show only changes.
  • Look at Competitor B's packaging: which capability sits behind which tier.
