instagram-research · postplusai — Claude Code skill for Instagram research
This skill pulls public Instagram evidence — profiles, posts, Reels, comments, hashtags — for a specific marketing decision.
npx skills add PostPlusAI/postplus-skills --skill instagram-research -a claude-codeWhat instagram-research does
Give it a product, category, problem, competitor, account or content URL and it picks the research route itself. Five scenarios are covered: account audit, organic benchmark, audience voice, creator discovery, and campaign or hashtag scouting.
Everything runs through the postplus CLI: postplus research run <route> --<semantic flags> --limit <n> --wait --output result.json. Available routes are instagram-profiles, instagram-posts, instagram-hashtags, instagram-search, instagram-comments and instagram-email-search. Flags differ per route — instagram-posts, for instance, takes repeated --handle or repeated --url, never both. Run postplus research run <route> --help when a flag or a bound is unclear.
Public Instagram only. Paid ads, Stories, Shop, LIVE, private analytics and broad social listening are out of scope, and the skill stops or asks you to narrow the request. Cross-platform asks get the Instagram lane only, with the rest handed off. Spending approval has to exist before a run is confirmed; a task description alone is not authorization.
What it helps with
- audit a competitor account before a campaign launch
- find working hooks and formats in someone else's organic content
- mine comments for audience objections and phrasing
- build a creator shortlist with public contact signals
- scan a brand hashtag or campaign for UGC samples
Example prompts for the agent
- Audit this competitor account and show which formats perform best for them
- Pull the comments on these posts and list what the audience complains about
- Find creators in our category and keep only the ones with a public email
