What query does

The skill walks .fpf/knowledge/ and .fpf/decisions/, matches your query and prints a table: hypothesis name, layer (L0, L1, L2 or invalid), kind and R_eff. For anything at L1 or above it reads the audit section and breaks down how the score was reached, weakest link included.

When a hypothesis has dependencies, you get a tree with R scores and congruence levels. You can search by keyword, by a specific ID, by layer, or across decision records. Evidence files are listed alongside.

It only works where a .fpf/ structure already exists and holds content. Point it at an empty directory and the table comes back empty, so check that the knowledge base is populated first.

What it helps with

  • find a hypothesis by keyword in the knowledge base
  • see how an R_eff score was assembled
  • trace the dependency tree of a hypothesis
  • filter records by layer L0, L1 or L2
  • list decision records and what they rejected

Example prompts for the agent

  • /fpf:query caching
  • /fpf:query redis-caching
  • /fpf:query L2

Questions about query

How do I install query in Claude?

Run npx skills add NeoLabHQ/context-engineering-kit --skill query -a claude-code. The skill file then lands at ~/.claude/skills/query/SKILL.md.

What does the query skill do?

It searches hypotheses and decision records in .fpf/knowledge/ and .fpf/decisions/, then presents them in a table with layer, kind and R_eff.

What does the search need to find anything?

A populated .fpf/ structure with hypothesis, decision and evidence files. Without it the skill returns an empty list.
