Orchestrates Octagon MCP tools to gather stock quotes, P/E ratios, and analyst consensus targets. It helps traders build structured intelligence reports for individual tickers and sectors.
npx skills add OctagonAI/skills --skill market-analyst-master -a claude-codeWhat market-analyst-master does
The skill coordinates Octagon MCP tools to conduct institutional-grade market research. It adopts the persona of a senior analyst writing for portfolio managers and active traders. Instead of manual data gathering, the agent pulls real-time quotes, analyst consensus ratings, and sector valuation benchmarks.
The analytical workflow follows seven phases. First, it fetches a price snapshot and market capitalization for <TICKER>. Next, it reviews Wall Street price targets and checks thirty-day price trends. It then benchmarks company P/E multiples against the sector and evaluates trends in the ^GSPC index. For macro-sensitive tickers, it queries GCUSD gold prices and active currency pairs before generating the final report.
You need Octagon MCP configured beforehand. Without the MCP connection in place, the model cannot retrieve live market data.
What it helps with
- generate a structured equity research report for a given ticker
- compare company P/E ratios against sector and industry benchmarks
- evaluate Wall Street consensus targets and recent rating revisions
- track multi-timeframe returns against the S&P 500 index
- assess historical market cap trends alongside commodity price movements
Example prompts for the agent
- Run a full market intelligence report for
AAPL, including sector P/E benchmarks and analyst targets. - Compare
AAPLperformance against the ^GSPC index and calculate valuation metrics relative to peers. - Generate a stock snapshot for
AAPLwith consensus ratings, 30-day closing prices, and trading volume.
